Bookcase Blogging: Day 1
Ah, the joys of getting bookcases for your 36th birthday! (Not that the birthday in question has happened yet--it's an early birthday present.) Now that I've given these folks a deposit, I have to...box a lot of books.
I'm swapping out all of these bookcases:
The rolltop will move into my office, where it will replace my on-the-verge-of-collapsing Sauder thingamajig, and the (here invisible) painting featured at the top left corner of this blog will relocate to the living room. I'm keeping six of these bookcases, at least for now ; they're going to take up residence in the smaller of the downstairs bedrooms (which, needless to say, is now a bookroom instead of a bedroom).
As you can see in the photo on the right, my plans are cause for some concern among the resident feline population. Disraeli generally keeps out of the way, but Victoria insists on supervising all important household activities.
In any event, after working for a few hours, I took out all of the books on religion, which aren't going to be boxed--I'll need to use a fair number of them for the sermons article--and moved three of the seven-foot bookcases into the small bedroom. The books on the floor will also take up temporary residence in that room. Tomorrow, the book boxes arrive.
