I'm having a lot of fun with Library Thing, which helps you build an online catalogue of your library.  (Only 4500+ books to go...)  The site builds your catalogue through a combination of manual entries, LOC, and Amazon; this Victorianist thinks that tapping in to the British Library might also be a good plan.  Unfortunately, there's a fair amount of arbitrariness about in some of the available listings--books "available" only in hardcover or paperback, in first editions but not second, etc.  Still, that's the sort of thing that can be fixed during the editing process.
