Shelved
After several weeks of boxing, unboxing, categorizing, alphabetizing, and transporting, Every Single Book in the House (that's about 5300+ of the 6300+ I own) has moved to a new location--whether a new shelf, a new bookcase, or a new room.
The most important lesson to be learned from this experience: hire help, for crying out loud.
Final shots of the new library, which now houses fiction, literary criticism, religion, and anthologies (oh, and a recliner):
As you can see, I haven't finished putting shelves in the now-empty bookcases (my goodness--empty bookcases!). In any event, now that I've finished moving the books around, I can actually get back to doing something that bears a suspicious resemblance to my research. And blog posts with intellectual content, even.
