Sherlock ho!

Next year brings with it Stanford University's Discovering Sherlock Holmes.  The project will reprint The Hound of the Baskervilles and three short stories, "just as they were originally printed and illustrated in The Strand Magazine."  (Via Metafilter.)  The late Chris Willis discussed the Strand's history in an article for the new Strand; see also Elaine Gross on the magazine's competitors.   For more Doyle in the Strand, try the Electronic Text Center's scans of the illustrations to The Adventures of Etienne Gerard.
