  • C. M. Home, From Dayspring to Dayset.  A Tale of the Times of St. Dunstan (Washbourne, n.d.).  Late-Victorian Catholic novel set in the tenth century, which concludes with several people dying very painfully.  (eBay)
  • Marlon James, A Brief History of Seven Killings (Riverhead, 2015). Novel about the attempted assassination of Bob Marley before a concert in West Kingston in 1976, and its aftermath.  (Lift Bridge)
  • Peter Garside and Karen O'Brien, eds., The Oxford History of the Novel in English: English and British Fiction 1750-1820 (Oxford, 2015). What it says on the tin (genres, major authors, audiences, etc.).  I'm reviewing this for Choice.  (Review copy)
