  • Christopher Wilson, Cotton (Harcourt, 2005).  Adventures of a white, blonde African-American from the 50s on.
  • Lionel Shriver, We Need to Talk About Kevin (Serpent's Tail, 2006). Problem child.
  • Julian Rathbone, Joseph (Abacus, 1999).  Picaresque historical novel with a very unreliable narrator.
  • Peter Carey, Bliss (F&F, 2001).  Am I in Hell, man wonders?
  • ---, Illywhacker (F&F, 2004).  139-year-old narrator has some odd tales to tell.
