  • Emily Sarah Holt, Red and White: A Tale of the Wars of the Roses (Robert Carter & Brothers, n.d.).  Members of the Houses of Lancaster and York behave unpleasantly.  One of Holt's rarest novels.
  • Douglas A. Martin, Branwell: A Novel of the Bronte Brother (Soft Skull Press, 2006). Slightly fantastic take on Branwell's short life.
  • Peter Behrens, The Law of Dreams: A  Novel (Steerforth, 2006).  Picaresque historical novel about a young Irishman's experiences in the wake of the Famine.
  • Penelope Lively, Pack of Cards and Other Stories (Perennial, 1990).  Short story collection.
  • Robert Edric, The Broken Lands: A Novel of Arctic Disaster (St. Martin's Griffin, 2003).  Historical novel about Sir John Franklin
  • John Stoughton, Footprints of Italian Reformers (RTS, [1881]).  Sketches of the lives and associated locales of Italian Protestants.
