  • William Anderson, An Exposure of Popery; With Special Reference to Penance and the Mass (Hodder & Stoughton, 1878).  Posthumously-published Presbyterian anti-popery polemic; there's a late-Victorian biographical account of Anderson here. 
  • Edwin A. Abbott, Philomythus, An Antidote against Credulity; A Discussion of Cardinal Newman's Essay on Ecclesiastical Miracles (Macmillan, 1891).  This is indeed by the author of Flatland.
