  • John Lingard, The History of England, From the First Invasion by the Romans to the Accession of William and Mary in 1688, 6th ed., 10 vols. (Dolman, 1855).  Extremely popular (and, because of Lingard's Catholicism, extremely controversial) history.
  • Henry Home, Lord Kames, Elements of Criticism, 2 vols. (Liberty Fund, 2005).  New edition of Kames' influential work of literary criticism, published in Liberty Fund's Natural Law and Enlightenment Classics series.
