• Bruce Duffy, The World as I Found It (NYRB, 2010).  Reprint of Duffy's historical novel about three famed twentieth-century philosophers.  (MLA)
• John Pipkin, The Woods Burner (Anchor, 2009). Thoreau inadvertently torches a forest, with unpredictable results for several other people.  (MLA)
• Miri Rubin, Mother of God: A History of the Virgin Mary (Yale, 2009).  Religious and social history from the beginnings on, with some emphasis on Mary's function in anti-Semitic discourses. (eBay)
• John Henry Newman, The Letters and Diaries of John Henry Newman, Vol. XXXII: Supplement, ed. Francis J. McGrath (Oxford, 2009).  What it sounds like--previously uncollected documents in this vast edition of Newman's correspondence.  (Amazon [secondhand])
