This Week's Acquisitions
- Jane West, The Loyalists, 2 vols. in 1 (Bradford & Read, 1813). First US edition of West's novel about the English Civil War, which also has some sharp things to say about contemporary English culture (with some snark directed at over-enthusiastic evangelicals). (eBay)
- Francis Edward Paget, The Curate of Cumberworth and the Vicar of Rooth, 2nd ed. (Joseph Masters, 1859).
