  • Paul Howarth, Only Killers and Thieves (HarperCollins, 2018).  Novel set in late-Victorian Australia, examining colonial violence through a story about a settler family hunting down a former Aboriginal employee, with horrific results.  (Amazon)
  • Publications of the Catholic Truth Society, vol. 11 (CTS, 1890).  An anthology of various tract-length pieces, including fiction, a biography of the novelist and poet Mary Howitt (who converted to Catholicism in later life), hagiography, etc.  (eBay)
  • John H. Mazaheri, Essays on Religion in George Eliot's Early Fiction (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2018).  Covers Scenes of Clerical Life, Adam Bede, and Mill on the Floss.  I'm reviewing this for Journal of Religion and the Arts.  (Review copy)
