This Week's Acquisitions

  • Sister M. F. Clare [Margaret Anna Cusack], Hornehurst Rectory (Sadlier, 1887).  Reprint of this rare 1872 Catholic conversion novel by an extremely outspoken Irish nun (the "Nun of Kenmare"), an Anglican sister who converted to Catholicism, then converted back about thirty years later.  At the time this novel was published, she was still a Poor Clare; she later went on to found the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace.  (eBay)
  • W. M. H.  Popish Worship and Scripture Worship, Tracts on Christian Doctrine IV (Female Auxiliary to the Scottish Reformation Society, June 1854).  Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the religious fence, this short tract comparing Roman Catholic spectacle to Protestant spirituality.   (eBay)
