Nineteenth-century ancestor
Just today, my mother managed to get a photograph of my great-great-grandmother, Chaia Esther Finkelstein (1862-95), which had been preserved in a group of photos belonging to my great-aunt and uncle. The full photo is of Chaia with two unidentified women; they may also be relatives. There's no date, but we're guessing that the photo was taken sometime in the 1880s (or even 1870s), possibly in Poland.
In case you're wondering, the family resemblance is very pronounced.
